Design and Development
Description:
The Division of Design and Development represents the interests of AECT members concerned with systematic development (including design, evaluation and management) of instruction. The purpose of the Division is to promote the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning through the acquisition and application of the knowledge, skills and dispositions to: 1.) design conditions for learning through principles of instructional systems design, message design, instructional strategies, and learner characteristics; 2.) develop instructional materials and experiences using print, audiovisual, computer-based, and integrated technologies; and 3.) evaluate the adequacy of instruction and learning through principles of problem analysis, criterion-referenced measurement, and formative and summative evaluation
